Austin FC moved to the top of the Western Conference in MLS, beating Vancouver Whitecaps 3-0 on Saturday.

In the opening half-hour, Maximiliano Urruti doubled Austin in control, but they struggled in the second half, owning 62.3% but giving up eight or three points.

Sebastian Driussi kept the lead for Josh Wolff in the 68th minute, but was hit by a long-range shot from Nick Lima's back.

Austin are unbeaten in their opening five league games against relegation-threatened San Antonio FC in the US Open Cup on Wednesday.





They are one point clear of the Los Angeles Galaxy, who beat Nashville 1-0 at home, with Dejan Joveljic scoring in the 86th minute. Real Salt Lake drew 0-0 with Portland Timbers.

There was a goalless draw between Sporting KC and Columbus Crew and Colorado Rapids and Charlotte FC.

They beat Houston Dynamo 2-1 to secure a fourth-place win over FC Dallas.

The opening goal for Dynamo was scored by Sabastian Ferreira in the 33rd minute after the Texan derby and in the 87th minute through Tsiki Ntsabeleng.

Facundo Quignon scored three points for Toros and was left unmarked in the back corner of the box to score in the third minute of injury time.

Philadelphia Union drew 1-1 at home to Montreal CF but pushed Orlando City and New York RB on Sunday to remain top of the Eastern Conference.

The San Jose Earthquakes moved from the bottom of the West Conference after a 4-3 win over the Seattle Sounders. Christian Espinoza scored the winner for Hattrick from the penalty spot in the fourth minute of injury time.

In other Saturday results, Minnesota FC beat the Chicago Fire 3-0 and DC United beat the New England Revolution 3-2.
