Liverpool vs Villarreal (1:30 AM)

Phil Foden has warned Manchester City that they will have more chances in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.

The England international was targeted during a thrilling match at the Etihad Stadium, with Pep Guardiola's side narrowly winning 4-3.

City are set to travel to Madrid next week, knowing they can advance to the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Chelsea 1-0 last year.

The edge of victory may be bigger, but for a wasteful end. In fact, the home side have scored 16 goals and conceded just six.

And Foden knows that he and his teammates need to demonstrate more medical margins on special occasions.

"Obviously this is a good football match for the fans," he told BT Sport.

"We are playing for a team that has won the Champions League many times and if we give the ball away they will hurt us.

"It's something we have to do in the second round. The ropes are still there.

"It's a great game and it's the end of it. We started really well and killed them. We need to take more chances in these games."

Despite conceding just one goal, Guardiola is pleased with his side's performance and believes he can finish his job at Santiago Bernabeu.

"It was an amazing game played against an incredible team," he said.

"We are very proud of Manchester City around the world, but it is a final and sometimes it is football.

"We will go to Madrid and try to win the game. Both teams want to have the ability to play attacking.

"I'm proud of Carlo and his team for being so good. At the same time, I saw for ourselves that we could be there."
