After the player's father tweeted about his recent absence, Thomas Tuchel said there was no problem between him and Christian Pulisic.

The former Dortmund man has made 34 appearances for Chelsea this season, but has only made just half of his debut in Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

On Twitter, Pulisic's father, Mark, lamented the "sad" situation of the 23-year-old, saying "there are six months ahead" as a way out for the attacker.

Ahead of Saturday's home game between Chelsea and Wolfsburg, Tuchel dismissed suggestions that Pulis was unhappy in west London.

"I do not care if my father tells me he loves a player or not. I'm not worried about that. Certainly, ”he said. "It simply came to our notice then.

"Every manager, we have reasons to choose a roster and there are reasons for the first 11 players. You will never see the happy faces of players who have not been selected at this level of competition.

"There is absolutely no problem between me and a Christian," he said. He had a good training week and in some games had a big impact from the bench.

"I did not even know it [tweet]. It has nothing to do with my verdict. It has nothing to do with it.

"Ultimately, the players have a responsibility to stay in the team. I will do my best to make the right decision. Is it always right? Not sure Is it always fair? Not sure

"This is what you have signed up for at a club like Chelsea. I have not recently felt the same reaction from Christian. It is the exact opposite - it has been very strong and positive in recent weeks."

After playing 1,866 minutes this season, Pulisic is expected to feature in Tuchel's side in the FA Cup final, which they lost 2-1 to Wolves, and in the FA Cup final on 14 May. 2020
